Rourke Lays Jericho Out
It seems that Mickey Rourke has taken his latest role too seriously. The actor, who had been nominated for several awards for his role in "The Wrestler," and was in fact a wrestler himself, couldn't resist the chance to appear in a match.
According to fanhouse.com, the actor was at a WrestleMania match Sunday night when he was provoked by Chris Jericho, one of many WWE wrestlers. Shortly after the wrestler came out on top of a 3-on-1 match with wrestling legends Ricky Steamboat, Jimmy Snuka, and Roddy Piper, Rourke made his way to the ring.
After the two engaged in a boxing match, Jericho was knocked down. He had bad mouthed Rourke's roll in Wrestler, on both WWE TV and Larry King.
Rourke, who is now shooting "Iron Man 2," was told by his agents that it was not a good idea to enter the ring, as it could have a detrimental effect on his career.
