Rourke Not A Real Life Wrestler After All
Rourke drops out of Wrestlemania match against Chris Jericho
Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke is no longer going to be taking part of a real-life wrestling match.
The actor, who is receiving rave reviews and critical recognition for his latest role as a wrestler in the dumps in the film The Wrestler, announced at the SAG Awards that he would be fighting the WWE wrestler Chris Jericho in a wrestling match. The fight was due to take place at Wrestlemania 25 in April in Houston.
According to the Associated Press, a spokesperson for Rourke announced that he was no longer involved and would not be participating in Wrestlemania.
This comes after a face-to-face showdown took place on CNN's Larry King where the wrestler told the actor, "Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Rourke."
