Rove's Car Shrink-Wrapped at White House

Outgoing Bush adviser gets pranked by colleagues.

Even Karl Rove isn't safe from a good pranking. The outgoing presidential adviser to President Bush left his car parked near the White House's West Wing while he was out of town. This gave some of Rove's colleagues an opportunity that was apparently too tempting to pass up. The United Press International reports that the mischief-makers went all out, shrink-wrapping Rove's Jaguar. Not content with that, they then added two stuffed eagles to the trunk and a stuffed elephant to the hood. Their crowning glory, though, was an "I Love Barack Obama" bumper sticker.

Rove returned from his trip on Wednesday evening. This is his last week with the Bush administration. Upon sight of the car, Rove was reported to be wearing a big smile. He was aided in unwrapping the Jag by several eager children, who were at the White House to see the president arrive on the South Lawn via the Marine One helicopter. Rove is assigning the blame for his pranking to Al Hubbard, the chairman of Bush's National Economic Council.
