Ruffalo Family Announces Memorial Fund for Scott

The family released a statement expressing appreciation for "prayers and support."

Following the tragic death of actor Mark Raffalo's brother, Scott, the family has issued a statement in appreciation of the support they have gotten from the public in their time of need, reports TMZ.com.

"Mark Ruffalo and his family deeply appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support during this most difficult time of the passing of Scott Ruffalo. . . ."

The statment goes on to describe the 39-year-old as a "beloved son, brother, and husband," and states, "The funeral service will be private."

There is a way the public can continue to show their support as "a memorial fund has been established in Scott Ruffalo's name."

For those wanting to send donations, the address is:

Scott Ruffalo, Family Fund

According to a Reuters.com report, Scott, who was a hair stylist, was taken off life support Monday night exactly one week after being shot in the head at his Beverly Hills home.

A woman, Shaha Mishaal Adham, 26, who was wanted in connection with the shooting, was arrested and charged with attempted murder only hours before his death.

Not many details are known about the incident, but spokesman Lt. Toney Lee did comment to Reuters that detectives "are releasing very little at this time because there is a very intense, active investigation going on."
