Rumor: Duffy Tapped to Record Bond Theme

Amy Winehouse was previously working on the theme.

Rumor has it that Duffy will record the theme song for the latest James Bond film.



Originally rumored to be tapped to sing the song was Amy Winehouse, but because of a host of legal issues and her struggle with her alleged ongoing drug abuse, the singer and Mark Ronson had ceased working on the track. Much like Duffy, Winehouse was never officially slated to record the theme song, but it seemed as if she had the inside track.



The forthcoming installment in the James Bond series is titled Quantum of Solace, and according to BBC 6 Music, when the Welsh-born singer was approached about whether or not she had submitted a song to be considered for the theme, the Welsh-born singer hinted that she might be involved.



She said: "Well, a lady never exposes her secrets."
