RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2 Episode 2 - Starrbootylicious

It's morning and all the contestants arrive to the work room. Sahara is bummed that Shangela, her best friend, was eliminated last week but doesn't try to have it affect her. A mail arrives announcing that the week's competition will force the contestants to "make it rain." RuPaul shows up and announces a mini challenge. They have to turn a RuPaul doll into a trashy tramp. The groups will work into pairs, except for one person working by themselves. Mystique decides to work alone, while most end up pairing up from where they originated.

The contestants run for the fabrics and the dolls. Tyra and Jujubee start complaining about what a tramp would wear. With ten minutes to go, people frantically glue, cut and add glitter. After time is up, RuPaul judges and Pandora and Sahara were the winners. RuPaul announces the main stage challenge. The challenge is based off of the RuPaul movie Starrbooty; RuPaul wants to challenge the contestants to use both their brains and beauty. They have to be burlesque dancers and work in two teams. Since Pandora and Sahara won the mini challenge, they became the captains and had a schoolyard pick of the rest of the contestants.

RuPaul announces the beginning of the challenge and the contestants run for fabrics. Team Sahara discusses if they should dress the same or should be individuals. Tyra gets on the nerves of the team with her opinions.

Burlesque teachers arrive and they teach some basic tricks, including how to "Drop it like it's hot." Mystique demonstrates first, shaking like crazy to the stares of the other contestants. Nicole has trouble with spinning but gets it after some practice. Tyra starts to complain and even with some prodding from the teachers decides not to get up. She believes she can learn by just watching.

Team Pandora has time to practice on the main stage. Everyone starts to talk on top of each other. Morgan wants to choreograph, they practice and continue to complain as Pandora takes a step back.

Team Sahara gets their main stage practice and immediately Tyra complains about not practicing with heels. The rest of the team choreographs and practices wile Tyra doesn't move again admitting that tries to absorb everything.

When Pandora returns to the work room they steal some of the fabric from Sahara. When team Sahara returns, they complain but Sahara gives the fabric to the team after some reservations.

RuPaul makes rounds to the contestants and talks to Sahara about Tyra asleep on the couch. RuPaul goes over to Tyra and wakes her up. Tyra mentions how she is working fine and has sewn her costume already. RuPaul reminds Tyra that teamwork is an integral part of this week's scoring.

RuPaul announces that the competition will take place at Dragonfly and the audience will be 100% men. Along with Santino and Merle, Kim Coles and Dita Von Teese will be guest judging. The team that makes the most money will win. There is a twist: there is another way to earn money, by selling Cherry Pie Gift Certificates on the street for an hour while the other team performs on stage. Team Sahara is on the street first and they beg. Jujubee struggles, and Tyra thinks that they won't make any money.

Team Pandora is on first. Nicole struggles with the choreography. The team starts their solos and Sonique plays with one audience member's glasses. Raven doesn't think she made enough because she didn't interact as much.

Soon on the street, Sahara starts to gain popularity. Tyra surprises the group with her interactive skills as she gets on a light post to gather more attention for the crowd.

Pandora goes off to sell gift certificates. Nicole tries to be loud, but Raven stands there, Sonique is rude to people, and Morgan acts like a hooker. The team worries if they ever will make money.

Team Sahara starts their group performance. Dita was cracking up smiling for their team dancing, which is a rare occurrence. Jessica starts the solos, money was flying for Jessica, Mystique does her jump split again, this time not landing on her knee. Jujubee plays with lip gloss to make up for her lack of dancing skills.

The teams return and Nicole loses the picture of her drag mother. Some contestants talk about their families. Jujubee lost her father to lung cancer, while Pandora is dealing with a father with cancer. The contestants transform into their main stage outfits.

RuPaul talks to the judges about the challenge and the prizes. She reiterates the challenge goals and tell them this week's main stage theme: they have to wear high classed drag outfits. After all the models walked, RuPaul announces the winning team: Team Sahara. They are all safe. The individual challenge winner was Sahara. She also won a $1500 gift certificate.

Pandora Boxx's team was up for elimination. Pandora's dress wasn't the best. The bands around the stomach line were questionable; Kim Coles compared it to duct tape. Sonique came off rude on the street. Nicole came off like a drunk Janice Dickinson when she danced on the stage. Tatiana was the only contestant that got compliments from the audience. Raven didn't do much during her solo, and regrets not interacting with the audience more. Morgan has immunity. RuPaul asks the contestants who to eliminate. Morgan and several other contestants picks Tatiana.

The judges deliberate. Nicole made the least amount of money while Raven had the second to last amount. Tatiana comes off amateurish, not knowing how to strengthen her disadvantages. Pandora was the team's top money worker and has a strong sass about her.

The six contestants stand up on the stage: Morgan has immunity and is safe, Sonique is reprimanded for her mouth but is safe, Pandora and Tatiana are safe. Nicole brought the least amount of money and is in the bottom, Raven is the second lowest scorer and is up for elimination.

Nicole and Raven have to lip sync to En Vogue's "My Love." Both Raven and Nicole stay in place for the beginning half, but both start to strut during the breakdown. Raven garners the laughs of the judges when she uses a bra pad to powder her face. RuPaul announces that Raven is safe. Nicole is eliminated.
