Bradley Cooper has been named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2011, but some believe Ryan Gosling was robbed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, fans of the Drive actor took to the sidewalk outside People headquarters in New York on Thursday to let their disappointment be known, as well as with the hope that the magazine, who gave Ryan Reynolds the title last year, would change their minds.

"It's grievously unfair to Ryan and his fans that he wasn't chosen as this year's sexiest man alive," a protester told The Daily News. "It also shows how out of touch People Magazine is with mainstream culture. If we can't trust People Magazine, then who can we trust?"

About 15 Gosling fans stood outside chanting:

“One, two, three, four/ Bradley Cooper is a bore/ Five, six, seven eight/Ryan Gosling's super great,” as well as, “Bradley Cooper is just fine, but Ryan Gosling is divine.”

There was even an online petition regarding the new sexiest man alive, with 1,900 signatures in favor of Gosling.

While the protest did seem to be partly done humorously, with attendees clad in Gosling masks, People Magazine still defended their decision.

"We stand by our man!" People’s executive editor said. "Bradley Cooper is the whole package. He's gorgeous, talented, brainy, loves his mom, can cook up a storm and speaks fluent French! Who can argue with that?"

Cooper, 36, was humble about his new sexy title.

"I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," he told the magazine. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."
