Ryan Reynolds and Nicolas Cage on Board for ‘The Croods’
DreamWorks Animation Studios have announced that they will tackle a new topic: Cavemen. In their newest film in development, The Croods, they aim to tell that story of a caveman searching for a new home for his family after an earthquake threatens their way of life and the challenges that he encounters on this journey.
The film which is slated for 2012 release has reportedly gained the talents of Ryan Reynolds and Nicolas Cage. Cage is expected to play the main character while Reynolds will play a nomad that he meets unexpectedly.
DreamWorks first announced its intentions to make a Stone Age flick in 2005, but production of the film is just getting underway now. It is set to be written and directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco. DreamWorks is expected to release the film in 3-D as well.
