Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson's divorce was finalized on Friday after they split up late last year.
According to PopEater, the final divorce papers were filed in Los Angeles Supreme Court on Friday.
"Irreconcilable differences" were cited in court papers, and both have said very little to the press to reveal anymore insight into their problems.
Johansson, 26, began dating Reynolds, 34, in 2007. They announced their engagement in May 2008 and got married in Vancouver in September of that same year. They tried to keep the ceremony and their marriage as private as possible.
According to Us Magazine, Johansson had a short fling with Sean Penn after the breakup, but the two are no longer together.
In a recent interview, Reynolds said, "The media was not invited to my marriage, and they're definitely not invited into the divorce." He then added, "I don't think I want to get married again."
"Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it," Reynolds also said. "I'm not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be?"
