Ryan Reynolds to play Green Lantern
From Batman to Ironman, DC Comics has had its share of successful comic book-turned movie franchises, all with fairly respectable leading men and villains to represent them. After vigorous searching, Ryan Reynolds has been chosen to portray the Green Lantern in DC Comics' and Warner Bros. newest film, according to Reuters.
The reason for extensive duration of casting was that the director of the film, as well as the producers and the film studio all had different actors in mind to portray the Green Lantern. Jared Leto and even Justin Timberlake did a screen test for the film.
BBC News reports that Reynolds's chance at being a new leading man isn't his only luck this yearin 2008, Reynolds married Hollywood darling Scarlett Johansson, and is allegedly to star in a spin-off of his character, "Deadpool," an accomplice to Hugh Jackman in the Marvel universe, in the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" film.
