Reynolds’ next project will be as an executive producer on the show his production company recently sold to Fox.

The Green Lantern’s Ryan Reynolds’ production shingle, Dark Fire, has just sold its first project, a television comedy, to Fox.

Guidance, is a buddy comedy television project that will star Tyler Labine, who is currently starring opposite James Franco in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Labine will also be a showrunner on the project, which will be set in a high school, reports HollywoodReporter.com.

Fox was so hyped to purchase Guidance that it bought it Friday before Dark Fire could continue pitching it to the other networks later in the day, as per Variety.com.

Tim Dowling, who wrote the screenplay for the Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston 2010 comedy Just Go with It, will be writing and executive producing Guidance.

Before making it big on the silver screen, Reynolds starred on the ABC sitcom 2 Guys and a Girl, which aired from 1998 to 2001. Reynolds will be executive producer for Guidance along with Jonathon Komack Martin, Steve Pearl and Allan Loeb.
