Sacha Baron Cohen: How He Suffers for His Art

The comedian had to seek medical attention while filming "Bruno."

Some people would do anything for their art. But according to people.com, funny man Sacha Baron Cohen has gone too far. For his new film entitled Bruno, in which he plays an Australian fashionista and journalist, Cohen decided to bleach his hair blond — including his body hair.

The comedian had a severe allergic reaction to the peroxide, and had to seek medical attention. There have been no comments from the comedian or his camp.

This is not the first time Cohen has been in the news in regards to his new movie. The film was given an NC-17 rating, and includes several racy scenes. In addition, Cohen submitted an apology letter to Madonna, after a scene involving an adopted baby purportedly offended the singer.

The film is the follow-up to his 2006 mockumentary, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Its release date is July 10.
