Salvation Army offers online donations
The Salvation Army has been collecting donations and providing gifts for those in need for the past 40 years. Donors select an "angel" (child) for whom to buy specific gifts, which are dropped off at the Salvation Army Office.
According to NewsChief.com, along with the traditional way of donating, this year the Salvation Army has a new option for those wishing to give. This year, the JCPenny Company, Inc. has collaborated with the Salvation Army to offer an online donation system.
The system runs from now until Dec. 14 at www.jcp.com/angel. The site allows people to select their "angel" and shop for them online. People can choose their recipient by location, age range, and gender, and are emailed a list of needed items for a child who matches their requests.
FedEx Ground has also collaborated with the program, and is shipping gifts free of charge to any Salvation Army collection centers.
