Sandra Bullock Warns Meryl Streep to Watch Out
The friendly rivalry that has sprung up between Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep as they compete for best actress has now extended to the red carpet at the Oscars.
As she walked the red carpet Sunday night, Bullock spoke to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush. When Bush asked her about the rivalry that has sprung over the awards season, Bullock replied with a tongue in cheek response.
“If I should trip her by accident, it’s an accident,” she said. “Things happen in long dresses and high heels, so you never know.”
The playful rivalry between the two actresses has been fostered since they have both been up for the same Best actress award all season. At the Critic’s Choice Awards, they even tied, and shared a smooch on stage to prove that the rivalry is just some fun between two A-list actresses.
Bullock told Bush on the red carpet that “There will only be loving,” if Streep wins the award over her.
She also joked about her Razzie win for Worst Actress in All About Steve, saying she went to the ceremony to accept her award just like she had promised.
When asked why she went she said, “Because I said I would go and then apparently, all you have to do is say you’re gonna show up and then you get the award, which I think is fabulous.”
