Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Trial Starts
The surrogate mother for Hollywood couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Michelle Ross, had her house broken into and personal belongings stolen earlier this year. It is believed that an Ohio police chief stole the belongings and was selling them to a freelance photographer.
Michelle Ross and her entire hometown were shocked by these crimes. The burden of these charges will lay with Chief of Police Barry P. Carpenter. These charges include receiving stolen property, burglary, and tampering with evidence. If convicted, he could face up to 21 years in prison and a fine totaling to $45,000. This week is the start of Carpenter's trial.
The other man involved in the crime is Police Chief Chad M. Dojack. Both Dojack and Carpenter met with a photographer and tried to sell personal items from Ross's home, including photos, documents about the surrogacy agreement, and pictures of ultrasounds. The photographer who they attempted to sell these items to reported this incident to the surrogacy agency, and the surrogacy agency reported the thefts to the police. Dojack's trial is set for January.
