First, Josh Duhamel made his return, and now Sarah Michelle Gellar will make her return.

Gellar, 34, returns to primetime television in Ringer, and now she reveals she will return to daytime on All My Children.

The actress, wife, and mother starred on the soap as Kendall Hart Lang Slater on the show from 1993 to 1995, and shortly after she made a name for herself as Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

While promoting Ringer at the Television Critics Association on Thursday, she confirmed her daytime return to Us Weekly.

"I can officially confirm that I will be doing a guest spot on All My Children," Gellar said. "When I heard that the show was canceled, I didn't understand. It just doesn't make any sense to me. So I called [the casting director]...and said I wanted to do something."

Gellar, however, won’t reprise her role, because another actress has taken on the role since her departure.

“I just wanted to be a part of it,” she added. “I have no idea what I'm going to do, so we can take suggestions, but I will be doing one day. I'm excited!"

All My Children will air its final episode on television in September, but the long-running soap, along with One Life to Live, will continue online.
