Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and supposedly rising TV star, has been making a few promises that she couldn’t keep. Palin hosted a Fox News Channel special called Real American Stories.
The show contained several interviews given by stars. However, it seems no one told them that they were going to be in the special and made complaints about it.
Rapper/actor LL Cool J was one of the more vocal ones. Apparently, the program was going to show an old interview he gave. He tweeted late Tuesday that Fox “lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin’s Show. WOW.” As a result, the network has cut that portion out of the program entirely.
Another star who was not informed is country singer Toby Keith. Elaine Schock, his publicist, was asked by a reporter for details about his appearance on the show. Her response was, “You’re wrong. There is no Sarah Palin special with Toby Keith on it on Fox.”
After looking over the press release e-mailed to her, Schock concluded that the interview in question was conducted in Las Vegas in January 2009. However, she was never told it would be used for Palin’s show. Toby Keith had no comment one way or the other about the interview being used.
