Saturday Night Live Throws Back for Its Season Finale
Saturday Night Live was feeling nostalgic on its season finale last night when it decided to throwback its old signature characters for a change. Wrapping up its 34th season, Will Ferrell appeared as George W. Bush, along with Darrell Hammond, who did his popular rendition of Dick Cheney.
Joining the Ferrell and Hammond dynamic duo was Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph. Poehler returned to her spot as co-anchor to Seth Meyers on the "Weekend Update" skit. Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway, and Paul Rudd all also made surprise cameos.
According to the Associated Press, Poehler's departure from the show earlier in the season was due to her NBC sitcom, Parks and Recreation.
It wouldn't have been complete however without the Jeopardy spoof with Ferrell as Alex Trebek, Norm Macdonald as Burt Reynolds and Hammond, who played Sean Connery.
To wrap up the season was a sing-along of Billy Joel's "Goodnight Saigon" invoked by Ferrell and accompanied by musical guest, Green Day, reported the Associated Press.
