Scarlett Johansson is a Broadway Star
Every Broadway season, the Great White Way features a starry turn by one of Hollywood’s biggest movie stars. This year has already seen the likes of such A-list stars as Sienna Miller, Katie Holmes, and the brilliant Cate Blanchett in A Streetcar Named Desire. This past Sunday night, another Hollywood starlet made her bow on a Broadway stage. Along with seasonal theater star and movie star Liev Schreiber, Scarlett Johansson made her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge at the Cort Theatre.
As Catherine, Johansson garnered rave reviews from all of New York’s top critics. USA Today called Johansson’s transformation into the free-spirited teenager “a revelation.” Said to make or break a production, Ben Brantley of The New York Times stated that “Ms. Johansson melts into her character so thoroughly that her nimbus of celebrity disappears.”
A multiple Golden Globe nominee, Scarlett Johansson can be seen in Lost in Translation, He’s Just Not That into You, and A Girl with a Pearl Earring among others. Johansson can also be seen in the upcoming Iron Man 2 as the Black Widow.
