Scary Spice files Paternity Petition Against Eddie Murphy

Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Scary Spice, filed a petition to establish Eddie Murphy as the father of her baby, lawyer Gloria Allred announced in a press conference on Wednesday.

She is also seeking sole custody of the baby, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, and child support.

Brown claims that the pregnancy was planned and that the couple's relationship lasted for roughly four months. "The relationship was in full swing right in the beginning of our pregnancy," Brown said. "When you plan a pregnancy you have to be in a committed solid relationship."

According to a statement released by Allred, Eddie Murphy took a DNA test in June that proved he was the father.

Brown gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3rd and listed Murphy as the father on the birth certificate. She also has an 8-year-old daughter.

Eddie Murphy has five children from his previous marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005. He is currently engaged to producer Tracey Edmonds.
