Schwarzenegger will Play Himself in Stallone Film
According to The New York Times, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will play himself in Sylvester Stallone's film "The Expendables." His scenes will be shot in Los Angeles and Stallone's spokeswoman Michelle Bega said his role has not been "formally determined." It has not been disclosed whether he will be paid for his cameo.
This news does not come without ramifications for the often criticized California governor. A recent tax incentive to keep filmmakers from making their films outside of California was just passed. As The New York Times reports, this is something the governor backed up and continues do so. The film however will be shot in Brazil and Louisiana, going against his stand.
The newspaper also reports that in an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Schwarzenegger said, "Sly asked me if I would do a cameo. I said, 'Of course, I'll help you do a cameo. There's no two ways about that."The rest of the cast include Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Forest Whitaker and Eric Roberts.
