The Scoop on "The Ultimate Fighter: Season 10"

What's next for the hit SpikeTV series?

According to the Wrestling Observer, UFC and Dana White are thinking about bringing back a heavyweight competition for the 10th edition of The Ultimate Fighter. The last time the show featured a heavyweight division competition was for the second season in 2005. The winner of the TUF 2 heavyweight tournament, Rashad Evans, just won the UFC Light Heavyweight Title from the TUF 1 Light Heavyweight competition winner, Forrest Griffin.

UFC President, Dana White, has hinted and suggested that Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii could possibly be featured on the show later in 2009. UFC has extreme interest in Ishii, and feels The Ultimate Fighter could be a good way to break him into professional MMA.

The 9th edition of The Ultimate Fighter will air later this year. It will feature a new format, as a team of U.K. fighters will face off against a team of U.S. fighters. Michael Bisping, the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 3's light heavyweight tournament, will coach the British team. The American team will be coached by the winner of the Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin fight, set to go off at UFC 93 later this month. Rich Franklin is a former UFC Middleweight Champion and previously worked as a coach on the show in the second season.

A new heavyweight edition of TUF could be an opportunity for fan favorite and former EliteXC fighter, Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, to get a shot at competing in the UFC. Dana White has previously been open to the idea of Kimbo Slice trying out for the show. It could also be an opportunity for former WWE star, Bobby Lashley, who is now pursuing a career in MMA, to shoot for a UFC contract.
