Scott and DiCaprio to Take Over "Brave New World"
Ridley Scott has added another project to his pile of films by claiming director for the film "Brave New World," while Leonardo DiCaprio will work as the producer.
According to MTV.com, while Scott has been interested in the project for a while, DiCaprio will join him as producer and possible candidate for one of the film's roles. Farhad Safinia, screenwriter for "Apocalypto," will write for the new film. DiCaprio and Scott's production companies, Universal Pictures' Appian Way and Scott Free banners, will produce the film.
AZ Central.com reports that the film will be an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World," which takes place in a tightly controlled 26th century, where birth occurs in laboratories and five social groups have taken over the world. Characters include Bernard, a lower class figure, and Lenina, the object of his affection.
Scott had worked with DiCaprio on 2008's "Body of Lies," BBC News reports. He is currently working on other films such as "Robin Hood" with Russell Crowe and a prequel to 1979's "Alien."
