Scrubs Cancelled

The announcement came during NBC's upfronts Wednesday.

Scrubs is dead to NBC, but there is still the possibility that it could be resurrected by ABC.

During Wednesday's NBC upfronts, it was announced that the last Scrubs episode that was going to air on NBC would have been a fairy-tale themed half-hour inspired by The Princess Bride.

But, unless Scrubs is resurrected by ABC, J.D. (Zach Braff) and crew will never properly get a farewell because NBC has cancelled the show.

Scrubs, the first successful single-camera comedy on broadcast television, was supposed to end this season, but its writers were unable to finish their scripts before the writers' strike began. NBC Co-Chairman of Entertainment and Universal Media Studios Ben Silverman said Wednesday that the show would end this spring without completing its last six episodes.

Silverman said that he didn't know where Scrubs would end up. But, in recent weeks, high ranking ABC officials have said that they would be happy to give the show a proper send-off, with possibly 18 episodes.

Asked by a reporter whether or not he minds that ABC wants the comedy, Silverman said: "If they can go 1 for 21, good for them."
