Sean Astin Talks Parenting
Actor Sean Astin recently spoke to Time Out New York Kids about his own children and how they're interested in show business as well, reports celebrity-babies.com.
Astin has three daughters: Alexandra, 12, Elizabeth, 6, and Isabella, 3. Alexandra already has acting experience in community theater and a role as Elanor Gamgee (daughter of Samwise Gamgee, played by her father) in Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The idea has recently been planted in Elizabeth's head. Astin said, "Elizabeth just figured out what I do for a living. . . . Right now she's on a I-want-to-make-movies kick."
Astin is currently voicing the lead character in the Disney Channel's new animated series, Special Agent Oso. He said that while watching the show with Isabella, he said to her, "'That's Daddy,' and she looked at the screen then looked back at me like I was as dumb as a box of rocks and said, 'That's Oso, not Daddy.'"
If their relatives are any indication, the girls have definite star potential. Aside from their father, their grandmother (Astin's mother) is actress Patty Duke, who is currently starring in the musical, Wicked, in San Francisco.
