The Search For 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'
Although the Hollywood adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo already has a director, producer, and actor Daniel Craig confirmed, the lead actress role still needs to be filled.
The role is that of Lisbeth Sanders, a math genius and computer hacker - the leading lady in Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel.
Although well-known actresses Natalie Portman and Ellen Page were rumored to be contenders for the role, a report from Entertainment Weekly says that the role will most likely go to one of four little known actresses; Rooney Mara, Léa Seydoux, Sara Snook, or Sophie Lowe.
Although the four actresses are fairly unknown in Hollywood, they have had experience in both the television and film industries.
Mara has been on shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and ER, while Seydoux has played roles in both Robin Hood, (alongside Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett), and Quentin Tatintino's Inglorious Basterds.
Both Snook and Lowe are Australian, and have yet to make their debuts in the U.S. However, Lowe has previously worked on some smaller projects in Australia, while Snook recently played a small part on a popular medical drama.
