Season 3 of "Chuck" Delayed by a Week or Two

Chuck leading man Zachary Levi told E! Online that the Season 3 viewing of the show was postponed after the sudden death of an NBC programming executive.

TV Guide reports that NBC series Chuck, which is expected to air Season 3 starting Monday, may be postponed a bit longer.

"I just got an email from [Chuck executive producer] Josh Schwartz, and he said stay positive, [but] we're not going to find out on Monday," said star Zachary Levi in an E! Online interview Friday. "It could be another week or two."

The reason for the delay is there are "pilots that NBC brass are still wading through," TV Guide states. The unexpected death of NBC programming executive Nora O'Brien has also contributed in the halting of the weekly screening process. O'Brien succumbed to a brain aneurysm on Thursday, while visiting the set of the show, Parenthood.

"It's not lost on [NBC], the fan reaction, the critical support, and this grassroots movement that's taken hold," said Schwartz about the Chuck series.

"All of that is very significant in indicating momentum for the show, growth for the show, and a really loyal and fervent fan base for the show," he added, saying the delay was a tough decision for the network, which has always taken a liking to the program.
