The September Issue Is the Vogue's First Movie
The September Issue, a documentary on Vogue and Anna Wintour, had its premiere this past weekend at the Sundance Film Festival.
The film follows Anna Wintour and her team through the preparation on the Vogue's biggest issue of the year, the September 2007 issue, the largest magazine ever published.
The September Issue goes behind the scenes and shows even a little of Wintour's personal life, her relationships with her late father, the famous British newspaper editor, Charles Wintour, and daughter Bee Shaffer.
However the real star of the film is not Anna Wintour as expected but Grace Coddington, the number 2 editor of the "Bible of fashion."
The film features appearances like Oscar de la Renta, Patrick Demarchelier, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesqui?re, Jean Paul Gaultier, Stefano Pilati, Phillip Lim and Isabel Toledo, among others.
Ms. Wintour has been the subject of many rumors about leaving Vogue, which Mr. Cutler says is also reporting in the movie: "There is a moment in the film where, what might lead to the end of her time at Vogue comes up and is addressed. I don't want to give away story points but it is something that she speaks to," according to the Wall Street Journal report.
