Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet?
Seth Rogen, the pudgy actor who recently starred in the comedic hit about unexpected pregnancy, Knocked Up, is in talks with Columbia Pictures to play the title role of the upcoming Green Hornet film.
If the deal gets sealed, then Rogen will also be co-writer and co-executive producer with Evan Goldberg, a source at the Sony Corporation, which owns the studio, told Reuters on Friday.
The Green Hornet, based on the 1960s television series, concerns newspaper publisher Britt Reid's battle against the criminal underworld with his sidekick, Kato.
No one has yet to be cast as Kato, according to the source. The character was originally played by the martial-arts legend Bruce Lee in the television series.
Columbia is the same company that distributed the Spiderman film franchise and will release Superbad, another comedy starring Rogen and written by him along with Goldberg, in August.
