Asian star Jay Chou will be playing Kato in "The Green Hornet" film.

Jay Chou, Taiwanese pop star, will co-star alongside Seth Rogen in the film version of "The Green Hornet." The radio series for "The Green Hornet" was created by George W. Trendle and will be brought up to date in 2010. In the movie, Chou will be playing Kato, sidekick to the Green Hornet, a role previously played by the legendary Bruce Lee.

In Asia, Chou is known for his mix of American and Asian music techniques. His popularity rocketed in 2000 with his self titled album, "Jay." Chou is also well known for his role in various Asian movies including "Initial D" and "The Curse of the Golden Flower."

According to ABC News, Chou said, "It's an overwhelming experience to take on a role made famous by Bruce Lee." As Lee did, he also has hopes of bringing his own personality to the role.

Director Michael Gondry told Wired.com that the two actors had "great chemistry."
