Actor Seth Rogen has reportedly been attached to a Disney spy comedy titled The B Team. Rogen is working on the development of the comedy as a producer, although he could wind up ultimately starring in the film.
Variety reports that the film centers on a spy who is kidnapped and the only people that can rescue him are his tech support team and researchers. Disney would not comment on the story, though.
As Hollywood.com notes, the film has actually been in development at Disney for years, so Rogen’s participation may be just what the project needs to finally get off the ground. Contact Music reports that the script was written by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman.
Rogen has frequently taken part in both sides of the production process in his films, having been a credited writer on Superbad, The Pineapple Express and The Green Hornet. He was also producer for this year’s 50/50 and an executive producer on The Pineapple Express, Funny People and Knocked Up.
Rogen’s next film is My Mother’s Curse with Barbara Streisand, which he will also executive produce. Thursday, he told E! News that he would consider re-teaming up with James Franco for a sequel to The Pineapple Express. "I don't think it's so precious that I wouldn't want to ruin it with a sequel...So yeah, I would be [into it]. We talk about it. We joke around about it,” he said.
