They've conquered New York City. They've taken on a girls' non-honeymoon in Mexico. We've even watched them try to wrangle camels in Abu Dhabi. Now the girls of Sex and the CIty are going somewhere they've never gone before — back to high school.

The CW network has officially decided to move forward with a pilot titled Carrie Diaries, a prequel to Sex and the City based on the book of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new series would center around the show's main character Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school in the 80s, but will still maintain the core of what the original show was all about, love, relationships, sex, friendship while just trying to negotiate life and make it through each day. The CW has put the show in good hands, bringing on former Sex and the City writer and co-producer Amy B. Harris as the showrunner.

Like the original, the show will be told from Carrie's point of view with a high school innocence. She Knows Entertainment reported that the show will follow "the aspiring writer through her relationship with Sebastian Kydd and rivalry with popular girl Donna LaDonna."

The CW has also picked up two other pilots, a modern version of Beauty and the Beast as well as TV version of the comic book super hero the Green Arrow simply titled Arrow.
