Seymour to Play for Raiders

After a five-day holdout, Richard Seymour is reporting to the Oakland Raiders.

New York Giants v New England Patriots

According to the Boston Globe, Richard Seymour's agent, Eugene Parker, says his client is going to Oakland today. Seymour did not show up to practice after he was traded by the New England Patriots to the Oakland Raiders for a first-round draft pick.

FOXSports.com reports that Seymour is ending his five-day holdout and is joining the Raiders. There was speculation during the week that the defensive tackle did not want to leave the Boston area for Oakland. Seymour has four children and has custody of a 15-year old relative in the Boston area.

The Boston Herald states that Seymour was surprised by the trade to the Raiders. The five-time Pro Bowler said he "was blindsided by this whole event."

The Raiders open the regular season against the San Diego Chargers this Monday.
