The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, more widely known as the SFMoMA, will exhibit a collection of 20th century art that has been collected by Donald and Doris Fisher, founders of Gap clothing. The collection includes pieces by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Willem de Kooning, and other influential 20th century artists.

According to Reuters.com, the SFMoMA will combine the 1100 works of the Fishers' along with their existing collection. The San Jose Mercury News reports that the Fisehrs' collection includes 21 Warhols, 45 Calders, and 24 Lichtensteins.

The Fishers had originally planned to build their own museum in the Presidio in San Francisco, but they had to cancel the plans after residents and officials protested construction in the park.

The SF MOMA is undergoing an expansion, and plans to place the collection in its own special new gallery. The exhibition will be open to the public next summer.
