Shakira’s Upcoming Music Video Co-Stars Rafael Nadal

For her new music video, “Gypsy,” Latin pop star Shakira said she didn’t want just any male model to be the love interest, she wanted tennis star Rafael Nadal.

"I thought that for this video, I needed someone who could identify with, someone who had a similar vision," Shakira said

Shakira added, "I felt this parallel between the two of us would be portrayed in this video, and I think it came out great."

The song is about a person who is constantly on the move and Shakira thought Nadal and herself personally relate to the song’s story.

Shakira said "[It] is a song that reflects the way that I live, the way I see life.” "I have been on the road since I was a kid, and I think that's where the metaphor comes from.”

The song was directed by Jaume De Laiguana and appears on her She Wolf album.
