Shame on A-Rod

Major League Baseball is shamed by Alex Rodriguez's admission last week of the use of performance enhancing drugs.

Commissioner of Major League Baseball Bud Selig said Thursday that Rodriguez (known by fans as A-Rod) has brought shame to the sport as reported by CNN. "What Alex did was wrong and he will have to live with the damage he has done to his name and reputation," said Selig in a news release Thursday.

Rodriguez recently admitted to using a "banned substance" during the 2001-2003 seasons. Now a Yankees star, Rodriguez was playing for the Texas Rangers at the time.

"It tarnishes an entire era to some degree… The thing I'm most concerned about is the message it sends to our kids," said President Obama at a White House press conference when asked about the issue.

Yankees fans admonish his decision, though Rodriguez claims he never used the substance while playing for New York.

"It puts a bad name on the team and it's embarrassing," one fan told CNN.The public has expressed their disappointment to many news sources that Rodriguez would betray the integrity of the game.

A few loyal supporters were forgiving."We should just forgive him and move on," another Yankees fan reported to CNN.
