Shania Twain Is Heartbroken

Shania Twain was left with a broken heart after her split with husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Stuff.co.nz reveals.



The singer's Web site revealed her appreciation of the great public support she has received. She told her fans today: "I am going through a rough time personally in my life. . . . I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. . . . I have so much to say but . . . the best way for me to speak is through my music. . . . This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. . . . I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back."



Twain, 42, did not specify how she and 59-year-old record producer Lange would divide their estate as they own property in both New Zealand and Switzerland, according to CMT.com.

Twain and Lange had been an item for 14 years as they met in 1993 when they worked together on their first album, The Woman in Me. They married on 28 December 1993.



The couple's only son, Eja, is now 6 years old.
