Shania Twain Takes Canadian Vacation

Delighted by the fact that she'll be a guest judge on "American Idol" this month, singer Shania Twain decided to take a relaxing Canadian vacation before she begins work on the show.

Twain enjoyed time with family and friends, as well as Frederic Thiebaud, who was a supportive friend to Twain while allegedly her husband was having an affair with Thiebaud's wife.

Although the pair was spotted wearing rings in some photos, "They are not engaged and they are not married," said Twain's rep.

According to People Magazine, photos show Twain and her friends hanging out at her lakefront home and Thiebaud playing around with their children- Twain's son Eja, 8, and his daughter, Johanna.

"She loves being back in Canada," said a friend of Twain. "That cottage is probably her favorite place in the world."

In addition to being a guest judge on "Idol's" Chicago auditions, Twain will turn 44 on Aug. 28.
