Shayne Lamas Charged with DUI
Reality stars are apparently not learning from each other's mistakes.
Shayne Lamas, former winner of the "Bachelor" and "Leave it to Lamas" star, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, E! News reports.
Lamas drove through a police checkpoint in Venice, CA at around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning. Although she believed she was sober, she was arrested for having a B.A.C. over the legal limit.
"Early Saturday morning, after consuming one drink, I willing drove through a mandatory check point on my way home with complete confidence of passing," Lamas recounted to E!.
"However, the breathalyzer indicated that I was over the legal limit of blood alcohol content and was arrested onsite."
The 24-year-old made it clear that she had no intention of being reckless and was truly sorry about the mistake.
"I take full responsibility for my lack of judgment. I have always strived to be a role model for my friends, family and fans and have never nor will never condone drinking and driving. I apologize for all those I have disappointed, including myself."
Lamas was released from jail later in the morning. She is scheduled to appear in court on December 9 for the misdemeanor charge.
