She Won't Let It Eat Away At Her Anymore

Mary-Kate Olsen released from treatment facility last Friday.

After six weeks of eating disorder treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah, Mary-Kate Olsen returned home to Los Angeles. The 18-year-old actress reacted well to the therapy, gaining five pounds, according to MTV.com.

Reportedly dealing with anorexia, her eating disorder is no new thing. Her father, Dave, said in Us Weekly that Mary-Kate has suffered for two years.

She will receive private post-treatment in Los Angeles and continuing treatment in Manhattan when she and twin sister Ashley begin their freshman year at New York University.

While attending the clinic, her sister cancelled an Australia trip promoting their recent movie "New York Minute" in order to support her during the treatment.

The Olsens' publicist Michael Pagnotta said that Mary-Kate plans to return to her normal daily activities, enjoying the remainder of summer before starting college at NYU this August.

"She won't be hiding," said Pagnotta.

In the United States, 10 million women and 1 million men suffer from eating disorders, according to the National Eating Disorder Association.
