Sheryl Crow Gets Political
Newly active environmentalist Sheryl Crow is all about the green lately, and she's willing to stand up to some big shots to get her message out there.
The New York Post reports that Crow got into a mini-brawl this weekend at the famously irreverent White House Correspondent's dinner with none other than the President's right hand man, Karl Rove. Along with An Inconvenient Truth producer, Laurie David, Crow reportedly confronted Rove on why the administration doesn't do more to fight global warming. The response evidently was quite stony from Rove. Both Crow and David were apparently taken aback by his refusal to talk with them. David said later of the encounter, "I went over to him and said I encourage you to take a new look at global warming. He went from zero to 100 with me...I've never had anyone be so rude." A spokesperson for Crow and David's upcoming global warming music tour confirmed the reports and added that Crow told Rove that she deserved representation because she's an American citizen.
This disagreement comes fresh off Crow's statements where she discussed possible ways to preserve the environment, including promoting forest preservation by limiting yourself to one square of toilet paper.
