Sheryl Crow the Newest Resident of 'Cougar Town'

The singer joins the cast of the ABC comedy.

ABC's hit comedy Cougar Town just picked up a new regular. Singer Sheryl Crow will be guest starring for multiple episodes starting this March across from her long time friend Courtney Cox Arquette.

What's more, Miss Crow will not be playing herself.

This is big news both for Cougar Town and for Crow's acting career. Sheryl Crow rarely appears on television shows except to play herself, as she has done for 30 Rock and One Tree Hill. In fact, she hasn't acted since her 1999 appearance in the movie The Minus Man. Perhaps the opportunity to star with Courtney Cox influenced her decision.

Crow will play the new girl in town, one dating the Cougar Town hottie Grayson, played by Josh Hopkins. Since Cox's character Jules has a bit of a thing for Grayson, fans might look forward to a little cat fighting between the offstage pals.

Cougar Town airs Wednesdays at 9:30pm on ABC.
