Sheryl Crow reveals lasting love for Lance Armstrong
In an interview for the August issue of "Vanity Fair," singer Sheryl Crow talks about her struggle with breast cancer and her enduring love for her former fiance Lance Armstrong.
"I definitely still love him and always will love him.," she said.
When Crow first discovered she had cancer, 17 days after her and Armstrong's split, she immediately sent him a blackberry message. Armstrong was on an unaccompanied road trip from Lake Tahoe to Oregon. "I actually turned around to make the drive to L.A.," Armstrong, also a cancer survivor, told the magazine.
"It was difficult," Crow said. "I know he wanted to be there. I would have loved for him to have swept in and carried me through."
But ultimately, she says she realized she had to rely on people who could "really just be there for me all the way through this - emotionally, unconditionally."
