Shia LaBeouf Not Guilty of Unlawful Smoking

Actor Shia LaBeouf's attorney entered a plea of not guilty for unlawful smoking charge.

According to the Associated Press, Shia LaBeouf's attorney entered a plea of not guilty in a Burbank, Calif. court Wednesday morning for an unlawful smoking charge. The Transformers actor was cited by Burbank police on February 18 for smoking on the sidewalk outside of a downtown gift shop.

The 21-year-old actor failed to appear in court on Tuesday to handle the misdemeanor offense. Since LaBeouf's lawyer was not present either, a $1,000 bench warrant was issued for the actor. The warrant has been cleared since his lawyer's appearance in court Wednesday morning.

LaBeouf will star in the upcoming Indiana Jones film and has previously starred in the Disney Channel show, Even Stevens.

The young actor was arrested last year for failing to leave a Walgreens in Chicago. The misdemeanor charge for trespassing was dropped by the Walgreens store because it did not want to pursue the incident. The police involved in this arrest described LaBeouf as polite and courteous.
