Shia LaBeouf Recovering from Hand Injury
Shia LaBeouf is recovering nicely from surgery done to correct the damage on his left hand, reported E! Online. LaBeouf severely injured his hand during a car crash last July, requiring surgery immediately after the accident. However, a second procedure was still needed to correct the damage on his left thumb.
The surgery was originally postponed so LaBeouf could finish filming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the sequel to the popular Transformers movie, but, according to E!, a source has confirmed the actor had the final surgery two weeks ago.
The source also claimed that the rumors that LaBeouf would need a partial amputation were completely false, stating, "He's doing fine now."
The actor's rep has also confirmed this statement, saying, "Shia had one surgery postponed for 'Transformers 2,' but there's no additional complications now. It's taken a while, but the surgery has been completed and Shia should be healing fine."
LaBeouf's injury came at a very inconvenient time, forcing writers to re-write some scenes of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to include his injury. It also forced him to drop out of the thriller film, Dark Fields.
