The "Transformers" star will not face charges of drunk driving due to insufficient evidence.

Actor Shia LaBeouf will not face charges of drunk driving, police said Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

There was "insufficient evidence" to charge the actor with drunken driving, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison.

Robison said two other people involved in the summer crash in West Hollywood will face unspecified charges.

LaBeouf was arrested July 27 on drunk driving charges. He spent several days in the hospital for hand injuries, which required extensive surgery.

The actor refused a blood-alcohol test at the scene of the early morning crash. Sheriff's deputies later said that LaBeouf was not at fault for the accident, but because he refused the test his driver's license will be suspended. The Department of Motor Vehicles will automatically suspend LaBeouf's license for six to nine months.

LaBeouf is currently filming a sequel to the 2007 hit, Transformers. His hand injury was written into the script to keep production flowing as scheduled.
