Showtime Picks Up Matthew Perry Comedy
It's called End of Steve.
Showtime is becoming more and more known for its dark comedies (Weeds and Californication specifically), and if The End of Steve performs the way they think it will, then they'll become even better known for dabbling in dark comedy.
The End of Steve, as we wrote about last month, is a dark comedy written and produced by Matthew Perry and Peter Tolan. It will also star Perry, who was the longtime star of Friends, as "an unhappy, egomaniacal TV talk show host, confined to working on an afternoon gabber in Rochester, N.Y. and seeking redemption both personally and professionally," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Perry was nominated for both an Emmy and Golden Globe for his role on the 2006 TNT made-for-TV movie, The Ron Clark Story.
