Sigourney Weaver Had Bittersweet Relationship with Her Mother

Actress Sigourney Weaver reveals that she was devastated when her mother died, as the two had just been getting close again after being estranged, WENN reports.

Weaver's mother, Elizabeth, passed away last year at the age of 94, and the actress admits that the two always had a "difficult relationship." However, the two had gotten much closer in the last five years of her mother's life, and Weaver remained with her until the end.

"I was with her when she died, she'd had a tough couple of years. She was 94 and, luckily, I had been able to spend quite a bit of time with her," reveals Weaver who also recalls holding her mother's hand as she died.

Like any daughter, Weaver was devastated when her mother died, but she also sees in her mother's spirit a sense of encouragement. "She had really lived her life. I miss her but I feel she is still with me," says Weaver.
