Simon Cowell leaving "American Idol"
And then there were three. Again. Simon Cowell has confirmed he will be leaving “American Idol,” per People Magazine. Cowell made the announcement at the Television Critics Association’s Winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif. Cowell said he’s leaving to work on an American version of “The X Factor,” a popular U.K. reality talent competition.
“The X Factor will launch in 2011,” Cowell said. “Because of that, this will be my last season on American Idol,” People reported.
FOX revealed Cowell will be an executive producer and judge of the new show.
What is happening to our beloved “American Idol”? The judges’ table has seen quite a few changes recently. Fans are still getting over the replacement of Paula Abdul by Ellen DeGeneres. Last year the hit show added a fourth judge, Kara DioGuardi, to the format.
Cowell did not rule out future collaboration with Abdul on “The X Factor.” Cowell is infamously known for his blunt critiques of “Idol” contestants.
Will “Idol” ever be the same without the man you love to hate?

I am curious as to how Idol
I am curious as to how Idol will do even this year... People didn't seem to respond to Kara that well even though she has a great career and knowledge in and around the music industry. I think Ellen will add humor and a positive vibe to the show though.
