Overnight YouTube sensation Rebecca Black has received a lot of negative feedback recently about her single, "Friday," but Simon Cowell has nothing but good things to say about the song.
"Love it!" he said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I’ve never seen anything cause so much controversy. I think it’s genius. The fact that everyone’s getting upset about it is hysterical."
He continued, "It’s what we call a ‘hair-dryer song,’ a song girls sing into their hair dryers as they’re getting ready to go out. But the fact that it’s making people so angry is brilliant."
Cowell also talked to People magazine about the "cyberbullied" 13-year-old. "I want to meet her," he said. "Anyone who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet. I love people like that."
So far, Black's music video has been viewed over 23 million times on YouTube.
